“I have been privileged to serve our citizens since 1979, first as Councilman and beginning in 1988 as Mayor. During this time, Beckley has experienced significant growth. Several major projects such as Beckley Rail Trail, the Exhibition Mine Visitors’ Complex, the Beckley Intermodal Gateway Project, and the Beckley Z-way have been completed or are in construction. At the same time, other projects such as the Freedom Skate Park, Thornhill Courts, and Word Memorial Park have been finished which add significant green space and recreation space to our City. Building upon our past solidifies our foundation and will let us fully concentrate on future projects such as continued infrastructure development and the new Boy Scout initiative. This region will see significant and positive changes these next few years, and I am asking the voters to let me continue the good works we already have in progress."
